The Millinocket and Katahdin Region is filled with the beauty and natural resources that is the North Woods of Maine. Individuals come to the Katahdin Region to enjoy the many outdoor activities that are within a short distance of Millinocket. Others come for the way of life that is found in smaller towns in Maine. Millinocket is less crowded, less hectic, more laid back and has fewer of the trappings that are found in many other areas of the country.

The Millinocket area offers a variety of summertime activities. From hiking, fishing, camping, rafting, and nature watching, to boating, canoing and kayaking, summer is a great time to be in the Katahdin Region. When summer subsides, sports enthusiasts long for cool crisp fall days when they can pursue their favorite game. Winter is not a season for staying inside in Millinocket. Snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing are some of the activities that keep the local residents active while attracting visitors to the area all winter long.
